Spelling Bee

Kids News has made the very difficult decision to postpone the 2020 Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee until next year amid ongoing uncertainty around the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on schools, teachers and students.

It was our intention to relaunch the Spelling Bee in term 3 after initially postponing it when schools around the country switched to remote learning in terms 1 and 2.

However, the coronavirus pandemic continues to cause major disruption and Kids News has decided to postpone this year’s event until March 2021 so that schools can spend the rest of this year focusing on the core curriculum.

Registrations and student entries that have already been completed will be deleted and we will start from scratch next year when the Spelling Bee is relaunched.

Kids News would like to thank the many teachers and students who have supported the 2020 Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee.

Be assured that Kids News remains committed to childhood literacy and we look forward to delivering the Spelling Bee in 2021.

Stay tuned for more information in term 1 next year.
